Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 15-20 small business clients using QuickBooks Online
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with analytical insights
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and complex balance sheet accounts monthly
- Process payroll and ensure timely tax filings (federal, state, local)
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable workflows and collections strategies
- Implement and maintain internal controls for financial compliance
- Collaborate with CPA firms for year-end audits and tax preparation
- Train junior bookkeepers on standardized processes and best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with small businesses
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QB Advanced certification preferred)
- Deep understanding of GAAP principles and tax regulations (IRS, Texas state)
- Proven experience with multi-state payroll processing and sales tax compliance
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
- Associates degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- Exceptional attention to detail with 100% accuracy in financial reporting
- Strong communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration
