Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with meticulous attention to detail
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage cash flow for diverse client portfolios
- Prepare month-end/year-end financial statements and supporting schedules
- Oversee payroll processing and tax compliance for multiple entities
- Implement and optimize accounting software systems (QuickBooks proficiency required)
- Conduct internal audits and ensure SOX compliance adherence
- Collaborate with CPAs during tax season and financial audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience in a professional services environment
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop and Microsoft Excel (Advanced functions)
- Proven track record of managing multi-client accounting portfolios
- Deep understanding of GAAP principles and Virginia tax regulations
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation highly desirable
- Exceptional analytical skills and ability to identify financial discrepancies
- Strong communication skills for client reporting and team collaboration
