Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee daily bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Reconciliation: Perform accurate bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial records are up-to-date and error-free.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, profit and loss reports, and balance sheets to support business decision-making.
- Software Proficiency: Manage client accounts using leading platforms like QuickBooks Online and Xero, ensuring data integrity and smooth workflows.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist in the preparation of year-end tax packages and ensure all documentation is organized for tax season.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing clear explanations of financial data and addressing inquiries promptly.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize accounting processes and implement best practices for efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a service-based or small business environment.
- Software: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero is required; Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) is a must.
- Education: Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA certification is a plus but not required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot discrepancies and maintain high levels of accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial clients.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a remote or hybrid setting.
