Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with meticulous attention to detail
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll cycles for 15+ clients
- Generate monthly financial statements and variance analysis reports
- Implement QuickBooks solutions and optimize accounting workflows
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and state tax regulations (MD focus)
- Collaborate with tax professionals during quarterly/annual reviews
- Lead month-end closing procedures with zero-tolerance for errors
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional bookkeeping experience with multi-client portfolios
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop and Excel (VLOOKUP/PivotTables)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent certification (CPA/CPB preferred)
- Proven track record of managing complex payroll cycles and sales tax filings
- Exceptional analytical skills with 100% reconciliation accuracy
- Experience with nonprofit accounting (Form 990 preparation) a major plus
- Strong written communication for client financial reporting
- Ability to thrive in deadline-driven environments
