As our Senior Bookkeeper, you will be the gatekeeper of our financial integrity, ensuring that our books are up-to-date and our processes are efficient.
Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements for management review.
- Payroll Processing: Oversee the full-cycle payroll process, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Bookkeeping Software: Utilize QuickBooks and Excel to manage financial data, generate reports, and track expenses.
- Compliance: Assist with the preparation of year-end audits and tax filings.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage; expert-level Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure high accuracy in data entry.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Regulatory: Knowledge of California labor laws and payroll regulations is a plus.
