Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and reconcile bank statements monthly
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll systems
- Prepare financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flows)
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and tax regulations (CA-specific)
- Oversee month-end/year-end closing procedures
- Implement and optimize bookkeeping workflows using QuickBooks Online
- Collaborate with CPAs during audits and tax season
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience in California
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Associate's degree in Accounting or relevant certification (CPA/CMA preferred)
- Deep knowledge of California sales tax regulations and payroll compliance
- Proven ability to manage high-volume transactions with 100% accuracy
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience with construction/agricultural accounting a plus
