Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for executive review
- Oversee accounts payable processing and vendor relationship management
- Coordinate with auditors during annual financial reviews and tax preparation
- Maintain accurate general ledger and ensure GAAP compliance
- Implement and improve accounting systems for operational efficiency
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping experience in a corporate setting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions)
- Deep understanding of GAAP principles and Maryland tax regulations
- Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize competing financial tasks
