Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end billing processes including charge entry, claim submission, and payment posting
- Resolve complex billing discrepancies through insurance carrier negotiations and patient account follow-up
- Analyze aging reports and implement strategies to reduce accounts receivable days
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all billing documentation and electronic record handling
- Collaborate with coding and clinical departments to maintain accurate charge capture
- Generate monthly billing performance reports for executive leadership
- Train and mentor junior billing staff on best practices and system protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of medical billing experience with 3+ years in a leadership capacity
- Expertise in CPT/ICD-10 coding and CMS claim guidelines
- Advanced proficiency in Epic, Medisoft, or similar EHR billing platforms
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) credential preferred
- Proven ability to reduce denial rates by 20%+ through process optimization
