Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable processing including invoice verification, coding, and payment scheduling
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with proactive communication
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with financial policies
- Analyze payment trends and recommend process optimization strategies
- Collaborate with procurement and treasury teams on vendor management initiatives
- Prepare month-end closing reports and supporting documentation
- Train and mentor junior AP staff on system usage and best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on accounts payable experience in high-volume environments
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements
- Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAP) designation preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills for vendor and stakeholder interactions
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance and 1099 processing
