Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the AP/AR processes, including processing invoices, verifying vouchers, and collecting outstanding payments.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation of corporate and individual tax returns, ensuring all deadlines are met and deductions are optimized.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Compliance: Ensure the company remains compliant with federal, state, and local financial regulations and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Integrity: Demonstrated high ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
