Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including AP/AR, GL maintenance, and month-end close procedures
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and executive dashboards
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and Illinois state tax regulations
- Lead process improvement initiatives for accounting workflows and internal controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, investments, and balance sheet accounts
- Mentor junior accounting staff and assist with audit preparations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with public or corporate finance exposure
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
- Proven track record in month-end closing, financial reporting, and compliance
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Illinois CPA license or actively pursuing certification
- Experience with multi-state tax filings and payroll processing
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex financial data
