Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end month-end close process and prepare accurate, timely financial statements.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely vendor payments and accurate customer collections.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial reports to support executive decision-making and strategic planning.
- Assist in the annual external audit process and coordinate all required documentation with auditors.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA/CMA certification preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite) and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
