Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes with strict deadlines
- Lead accounts payable/receivable cycles and ensure compliance with GAAP
- Develop and implement internal controls for financial risk mitigation
- Collaborate with auditors during quarterly/annual compliance reviews
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with department heads
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting and regulatory compliance
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities for stakeholder reporting
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance (VA/MD/DC focus)
