Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee general ledger operations, including month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with strict adherence to GAAP
- Lead accounts payable/receivable cycles and ensure timely vendor/client payments
- Conduct internal audits and implement process improvements for financial controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Maintain compliance with federal/state tax regulations and SOX requirements
- Mentor junior accounting staff and optimize departmental workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expertise in GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Excel
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor accounting professionals
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance and audit preparation
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder reporting
