Role Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of our organization. You will manage complex accounting functions, prepare accurate financial reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This is an urgent hiring position, so we are looking for candidates who can hit the ground running.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- General Ledger: Manage the general ledger, including account reconciliation and variance analysis.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and collections to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve internal controls.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and cross-functional departments to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
- Bank Reconciliation: Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems and tax preparation software is a plus.
