Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures
- Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance and regulatory adherence
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes and implement process improvements
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to senior leadership
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls for financial systems
- Collaborate with auditors during annual reviews and tax preparation
- Mentor junior accounting staff and optimize department workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with remote work exposure
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems (Sage 100 experience a plus)
- Proven track record in managing multi-state financial operations
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations in Louisiana and Texas
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while meeting tight deadlines
