Responsibilities
- Oversee the full-cycle accounting process, including month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reconciliations, and variance reports to support executive decision-making.
- Manage general ledger activities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal control policies.
- Collaborate with tax teams to prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Conduct internal audits and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, ideally within a remote or hybrid work environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs).
- Strong understanding of US tax laws, GAAP principles, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a remote setting.
