Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations as well as internal company policies.
- General Ledger Management: Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Process Improvement: Streamline accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts, providing variance analysis to senior management.
- Payroll Support: Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll expenses.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor junior accountants and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial decision-making.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of US GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, high integrity, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Tools: Familiarity with cloud-based financial management platforms is a plus.
