Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. This is a full-time remote position with occasional travel to our Atlanta, GA office for team meetings.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct internal audits and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency.
- Collaborate with the finance team to forecast budgets and track financial performance against targets.
- Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger adjustments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
