Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and month-end close procedures.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and internal reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax laws specific to Louisiana.
- Assist in the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights to management on financial performance.
- Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Implement and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Macros).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
