The Role
The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will be responsible for preparing financial reports, managing the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and local regulations.
- Manage general ledger accounts and perform complex reconciliations for various bank accounts and credit cards.
- Assist in the preparation of local and federal tax filings and ensure timely submission to avoid penalties.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy of financial data and adherence to internal controls.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecast financial performance.
- Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification is a significant plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
