Responsibilities
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of financial reports.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, in strict accordance with GAAP.
- Manage general ledger accounts and perform complex reconciliations, including bank statements, credit cards, and inter-company accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for executive management and coordinate with external auditors during audit cycles.
- Support the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate tax records and assist with state and local tax filings and compliance requirements.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff on financial processes and software usage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA certification is highly preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate or finance services environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
