Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with variance reporting
- Manage full-cycle accounting for 15-20 portfolio companies
- Oversee payroll processing and tax compliance for California businesses
- Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Develop and implement internal controls for financial operations
- Conduct audits and prepare supporting documentation for regulatory filings
- Mentor junior accounting staff on best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and accounting software
- Expertise in GAAP and California tax regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent communication and client relationship abilities
- Experience with non-profit and for-profit entities
