Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team in the heart of London. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS, and leading month-end close processes. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Manage general ledger reconciliations and resolve complex accounting discrepancies.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT returns and other statutory filings to HMRC.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department heads.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Conduct internal audits and assist external auditors during the annual audit process.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification (Fully qualified preferred).
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax legislation, VAT rules, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
