Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, ensure all entries are accurate, and perform necessary reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and collections to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
- Audit Support: Assist internal and external auditors during the annual audit process by providing requested documentation and explanations.
- Compliance: Ensure the company complies with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement new internal controls.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with the finance team to provide insights on cash flow, budget variances, and financial forecasting.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot discrepancies and ensure high accuracy in all financial data.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of US GAAP and tax regulations.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
