Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage invoicing, payments, and collections processes efficiently to ensure healthy cash flow.
- Payroll Administration: Assist in the processing and reconciliation of payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Tax Preparation: Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings, working closely with external auditors.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to analyze data and detect discrepancies with high accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Illinois and Federal tax laws and compliance requirements.
