Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for 15-20 diverse client portfolios including GL maintenance, month-end closes, and reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with variance reporting
- Lead sales/use tax compliance across Illinois and Missouri jurisdictions
- Implement and optimize QuickBooks Online and Sage 100 ERP systems
- Conduct internal audits and process improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior accountants while maintaining 95%+ client satisfaction scores
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with CPA preferred (CPA candidates considered)
- 5+ years of public/private accounting experience with multi-state compliance
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel (VLOOKUP/PivotTables), and accounting software
- Proven track record in month-end closing and financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of FASB and IRS tax regulations
- Illinois sales tax certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
