Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring full compliance with GAAP standards.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to maintain data integrity.
- Payroll Support: Assist in the monthly payroll processing, ensuring accurate tax withholdings and benefits deductions.
- Compliance & Audits: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state tax regulations; serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage and process invoices and payments, ensuring timely vendor and client transactions.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current accounting workflows and propose strategic solutions to enhance productivity.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to analyze data and detect discrepancies with high accuracy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
