Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all deliverables.
- Compliance & Audit: Manage internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is organized and compliant with local and federal regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization within the accounting department and implement best practices.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
- General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and manage intercompany transactions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, NetSuite, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and integrity.
- Location: Must be willing to work on-site in Boston, MA.
