Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with detailed variance analysis
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes and ensure compliance with GAAP standards
- Lead tax preparation and planning initiatives for corporate and individual clients
- Implement and optimize internal controls to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budget forecasting and strategic financial planning
- Mentor junior accountants and provide training on accounting best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with public/private sector exposure
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting ERP systems
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and California-specific compliance requirements
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience in financial modeling
- Excellent communication abilities for client-facing and team collaboration
- Proven track record of improving financial processes and reducing operational costs
- Certifications (CPA, CMA) or active pursuit strongly preferred
