Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Manage general ledger operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable functions and optimize cash flow management
- Conduct internal audits and implement process improvements for financial controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and filing requirements
- Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to departmental training programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with public or corporate accounting
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems (Sage 100 a plus)
- Demonstrated expertise in month-end closes, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial data
- Experience managing accounts payable/receivable cycles and payroll processing
- Knowledge of Colorado state tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
