Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements for executive stakeholders and external auditors
- Lead budget forecasting and variance analysis for 15+ departmental cost centers
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes with 3-person team delegation
- Implement process improvements using ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and Excel automation
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and tax regulations (CA/Federal)
- Mentor junior accountants through monthly training sessions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, macros)
- SAP or Oracle ERP implementation experience
- SOX compliance and internal control documentation expertise
- California tax law knowledge (sales, payroll, corporate)
- Proven leadership managing accounting teams of 3+ professionals
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
