Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger function, maintaining accurate records and performing month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and collection of payments.
- Reconciliation: Perform complex bank reconciliations and intercompany account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Audit Support: Assist external auditors during annual audits and ensure all required documentation is available and organized.
- Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and internal policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required. CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, macros).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to stakeholders.
- Soft Skills: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
