Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with variance reporting
- Manage accounts payable/receivable cycles and month-end closing processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and Illinois state financial regulations
- Conduct internal audits and implement process improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budget forecasting and financial modeling
- Lead tax preparation and filing for corporate clients
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks and advanced Excel functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sector
- Expertise in GAAP, SOX compliance, and Illinois tax regulations
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and financial reporting software
- Proven ability to manage month-end closes and reconcile complex accounts
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Remote work experience and excellent communication abilities
