Responsibilities
- Manage month-end close processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and tax compliance
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure SOX compliance and audit readiness
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
- Lead special projects including system implementations and process optimization
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide training on financial procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated expertise in GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience with multi-state tax filings and audit coordination
