Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for diverse client portfolios including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports with clear narrative explanations
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring GAAP compliance and regulatory adherence
- Develop and implement internal controls to enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance
- Lead accounts reconciliation processes for bank accounts, investments, and complex intercompany transactions
- Maintain and optimize accounting software systems including QuickBooks Enterprise and advanced Excel models
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or corporate finance
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel (including VLOOKUP, PivotTables), and accounting software
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, IRS regulations, and Virginia tax compliance requirements
- Proven ability to manage complex financial reporting cycles and multiple deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial data
- Excellent communication skills for presenting financial insights to non-financial stakeholders
- Professional certification (CPA, CMA) or active pursuit preferred
