Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all entries are recorded correctly and reconciliations are performed timely.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for efficiency.
- Compliance & Audits: Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations to detect and resolve discrepancies immediately.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or public accounting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks).
- Certification: CPA certification is a strong plus but not mandatory.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial managers.
