Responsibilities
- Manage complex month-end close processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Oversee financial reporting packages ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy for stakeholders
- Lead internal controls implementation and SOX compliance documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budget forecasting and strategic financial initiatives
- Streamline accounting workflows through automation and process optimization
- Conduct forensic audits and special projects as requested by executive leadership
- Mentor junior accountants and support team professional development goals
Qualifications
- CPA certification with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Expertise in GAAP, SOX compliance, and multi-state tax regulations
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Excel with VBA/macros
- Proven experience leading month-end closes for high-volume transactions
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex financial data
- Remote work experience with demonstrated self-management capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; MBA or Master's preferred
