As a Senior Accountant, you will serve as a key advisor to management, ensuring compliance with GAAP and optimizing our financial reporting processes. Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, reconciling accounts, and identifying discrepancies promptly.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for operational efficiency and implement automated solutions to streamline accounting workflows.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist in external and internal audits by providing requested documentation and supporting findings.
- Payroll & Tax: Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate tax filings and compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accounting staff and conduct regular training sessions on financial processes and software usage.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree (MBA) preferred.
- Certification: CPA or CPA candidate status is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) is mandatory; experience with SAP or Oracle is a plus.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a high degree of accuracy under tight deadlines.
