Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process optimization
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable systems and implement internal controls for financial compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
- Lead tax preparation activities and ensure adherence to GAAP and IRS regulations
- Develop and maintain financial models for client profitability analysis
- Mentor junior accounting staff through formal training programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, and advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Demonstrated expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting
- Strong analytical skills with experience in variance analysis and process improvement
- Excellent communication abilities for presenting financial insights to non-financial stakeholders
- Proven track record of implementing accounting system upgrades
- Active Colorado CPA license required
