Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements for executive leadership and board members
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, GAAP, and nonprofit accounting standards
- Lead internal audits and coordinate external audit processes
- Develop and implement financial controls to enhance operational efficiency
- Maintain accurate fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations
- Collaborate with department heads on budgeting and forecasting initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or nonprofit sector
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions)
- Deep understanding of nonprofit accounting principles (FASB 117, 958, etc.)
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder interactions
