Responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP
- Oversee general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations
- Lead budgeting and forecasting initiatives for departmental units
- Conduct internal audits and implement process improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide financial guidance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks/NetSuite)
- Demonstrated expertise in financial statement preparation and analysis
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and tax regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Proven experience in process optimization and internal controls
