Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and reconcile bank statements monthly
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll systems efficiently
- Generate financial reports (P&L, balance sheets) for client portfolio
- Implement QuickBooks/Xero optimizations for client accounting workflows
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and state-specific tax regulations
- Collaborate with tax professionals during quarterly/year-end audits
- Train clients on financial software best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
- 3+ years bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks/Xero certification
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Proven track record of managing multi-client accounting portfolios
- Familiarity with Illinois sales tax regulations and payroll processing
- Exceptional attention to detail with 99%+ reconciliation accuracy
- Strong communication skills for remote client interactions
- Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines without supervision
