Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee daily journal entries, account reconciliations, and the maintenance of the general ledger system.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the end-to-end process of invoicing, expense tracking, and accounts payable to ensure timely vendor payments and accurate cash flow.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist management in developing annual budgets, tracking variances, and providing financial forecasting insights.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations; prepare necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated track record of accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
