Role Overview:
As a Remote Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will handle daily accounting operations, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide strategic insights to management. This is a full-time position requiring a self-starter who thrives in a remote setting.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss reports.
- Assist with annual tax preparation, filing, and compliance requirements for federal and state taxes.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts monthly.
- Support the budget preparation process and assist with financial forecasting and variance analysis.
- Process payroll accurately and ensure timely disbursement to employees.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) to maintain accurate financial records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in general accounting or bookkeeping.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar accounting software.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and federal tax regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Macros).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
