Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial operations including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L) to provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure strict compliance with GAAP, local, and federal tax regulations, as well as internal financial controls.
- Oversee budget preparation and forecasting processes, providing variance analysis to leadership.
- Perform month-end and year-end close procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Assist with tax filings and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certification: CPA, CMA, or EA certification is preferred but not mandatory for exceptional candidates.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero, and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Software: Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software and document management systems.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
