Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop novel error-correction techniques to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Lead experimental validation of quantum systems at sub-Kelvin temperatures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum processor architectures
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science
- 3+ years experience with quantum circuit simulation frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, color, LDPC)
- Strong publication record in quantum computing journals
- Familiarity with superconducting and photonic quantum hardware
- Experience with machine learning for quantum system optimization
- Ability to secure DOE/NIST quantum research grants
