Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into practical quantum circuits
- Secure $5M+ in research grants from NSF, DoD, and private foundations
- Mentor PhD candidates and junior researchers in quantum information science
- Develop commercial applications for quantum advantage in finance, logistics, and healthcare
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field (post-doc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and topological quantum computing
- Strong background in linear algebra, group theory, and complex analysis
- Proven track record of securing federal or corporate research funding
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or trapped ion quantum processors
- US citizenship or active DoD security clearance (required for government contracts)
