Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization problems in machine learning and cryptography
- Lead experiments with superconducting qubits and ion-trap quantum processors
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum circuit performance
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature Physics/Science journals
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Secure NSF and DARPA grants for quantum computing initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with published papers
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or ion-trap technologies
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Track record of securing research funding ($500K+)
