Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems in cryptography and materials science
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Collaborate with hardware teams to calibrate quantum processors and validate experimental results
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Translate theoretical models into practical quantum applications for Fortune 500 partners
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of research experience
- Proven expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum machine learning frameworks
- Publication record in Nature/Science journals with 20+ citations
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum simulation platforms
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and superconducting qubits
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and quantum information
- Ability to secure federal research funding and manage complex projects
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for NP-hard optimization challenges
